The Deputy President did not mention Raila by name but it was clear to all and sundry who he was referring to in his broadside.

''The biggest threat to our democracy, our progress, and stability are people who have questionable democratic credentials; dictators who participate in elections, and yet they do not accept the outcome of any election,'' the Deputy President fired.

Mr Ruto spoke on Sunday in Mosoriot, Nandi County.

His words come on the heels of Odinga's speech in the U.K where he maintained that NASA had won an election which was stolen by the ruling Jubilee Party.

The strong words have left many political pundits wondering whether the progress made by the dramatic handshake between Raila and President Uhuru will be sustained.

The opposition leader maintained that he and the president were committed to the handshake.
