Deputy President William Ruto on Monday said that cancer has become a cause for alarm across the country.
According to the DP, the government has taken drastic measures to counter the pandemic.
"We are losing a lot of people to this disease and this drove us to purchasing new radiation machines and screening equipment," he said.
He stated that each county has two equipped hospitals that can facilitate the early detection and proper treatment of cancer.
He also said that the disease is treatable and many deaths can be avoided now thanks to the new technology that was introduced to all counties. According to him, the government has played a huge role in lessening the burden of cancer patients across the country.
He also urged people to submit themselves to early screening so as to avoid the adverse effects it has and embark on early treatment.
