Nakuru County Deputy Governor Joseph Ruto has said that the county government does not have wrangles because he and the governor are longterm friends.
Speaking at workshop at Merica Hotel in Nakuru, the county Deputy Governor Joseph Ruto claimed that friendship between Governor Mbugua and him dates back to more than twenty years ago when they were working together in the administration department.
“He used to be my boss when He was the District Commissioner and I was the Senior Division Officer back then. Our friendship is what has glued us together,” cited Ruto further dismissing claims that the two were joined together by political interests.
“We have learnt to live and work together for a long time. That is why we have succeeded in managing affairs of the county and we do not see the war of words between leaders like in other counties,” added Ruto.
He called on leaders from other counties to emulate them, saying that the bond between leaders is important if they were to succeed in anything.
“It is the only way one can have unity of purpose for the good of all Kenyans,” added Ruto.
Ruto also called on the counties that were having wrangles to consider dialogue. “Other county leaders need to sort out their differences first instead of airing their fights in public, which then creates a bad image for those counties,” concluded Ruto.
