Deputy President William Ruto has taken a swipe at former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo for calling for mediation between the Jubilee party and the opposition NASA that may pave way for power sharing.
Speaking at Etago in South Mugirango in a heated Uhuruto campaign dismissed Kabogo`s opinion as ill-advised and poised to reward what they described as losers in a fairly contested election.
Instead Ruto challenged NASA presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga to demonstrate patriotism in his spirited quest for leadership by leading the national spirit of democracy which respects the popular will of the populace.
“We won’t allow a team of losers led by Kabogo to call for a dialogue when we know that we won the elections and we are ready to prove that we won,” said Ruto.
Kabogo had earlier in the week led a team that called for mutual talks between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga as a way of helping to restore normalcy in the country.
The Deputy President also rose to the defense of changed election laws saying the tweak on the statutes would avert Constitutional crisis in future regarding matters election.
He said the changes would guarantee the country peace in times of crises on an emotive issue like the presidential election which was supposed to unify citizens in the country.
