The National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principal Isaac Ruto now claims there is a plot by the Jubilee administration to rig next month’s general elections.

Ruto, the Bomet Governor, alleges that the chiefs and deputy county commissioners are being used to collect voters’ details in various polling stations whose purpose has not been disclosed.

"The provincial administrators are collecting signatures and ID numbers for 50 voters from each polling station in a number of counties. This could be one of the strategies the Jubilee government is planning to use to ensure they win unfairly," Ruto was quoted by the Standard speaking in Rongai Constituency in Nakuru County.

The Chama Cha Mashinani leader told the government to announce the purpose of collecting voters’ details ahead polls adding that the exercise has raised suspicion among residents of Nakuru County.

He said those who submitted their registration details were required to give their names, identification numbers and polling stations where they are registered. The voters were not informed why they were being told to participate, according to Ruto.

"50 votes per polling station means a lot for every political seat. If this is not a plan by Jubilee to have these people vote for them prior to the actual polls the government should clearly and publicly state the purpose of such records," the governor said.

The opposition alliance- NASA, led by its presidential candidate Raila Odinga has continuously claimed the President Uhuru Kenyatta-led government had intentions to manipulate the election process.

However, Jubilee leaders have rubbished the claims saying NASA was not ready for the polls and that is why it was spreading propaganda alleging that the election will be rigged.
