The DP who was speaking during a TV interview with Citizen TV on Wednesday said he will continue to defend the NYS program as it has greatly helped the youths and is continuing to spread all over the country.

"I stand by what I said then and what I have said recently. What I defended at that time was NYS and not Waiguru. I will defend the program today any other day," the DP said.

"I said if we discover that in the process of us implementing our good programs like NYS, there are people who have looted public funds we will take necessary action," he added.

The DP insisted that those involved in the loss of the NYS funds were already facing charges and there was all evidence to implicate Waiguru in the lost of NYS funds.

"We have not defended anybody and we have not said they should not be prosecuted. When NYS was investigated and evidence was found we did not defend anybody," he said.

"Waiguru was running the program and it was discovered that she was entangled in this mess she should now take responsibility," he added.
