Chama Cha Mashinani Party leader Isaac Ruto has insisted that he has not dissolved his political outfit to join the the National Super Alliance (NASA) ahead of the August general election.
The Bomet Governor said he has joined NASA like any other partner.
“My move to join Nasa should not be misconstrued to mean that I have folded Mashinani party. We are joining Nasa as equal partners,” he said, as quoted by the Nation.
The county boss, who has been a strong critic of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto, said he will rally the electorate in the region to back the opposition's flag bearer.
Menwhile, the governor has received a major boost after Kipsigis elders backed his re-election bid.
Addressing journalists, the elder's chair Philip Milgo and secretary Edwin Kimeto said they support Ruto's move join NASA.
“Nasa’s doors were widely open and welcomed the governor to talk with the party principals,” the elders said.
Ruto entry into NASA is likely to change the political situation of the country as we head to the polls.
