Deputy President William Ruto has faulted the Opposition for their sustained onslaught on the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

He cautioned the Cord brigade over meddling with the affairs of the electoral body, saying the opposition cannot be the referee in their own game.

"They should make a choice whether they want to be staff or managers of IEBC or else leave the commission to carry out its mandate,” Ruto said during a visit in Baringo County.

Ruto said that the polls body is neither answerable to Jubilee nor Cord and interfering with its functions is against the law. 

The polls body has recently come under attack from the opposition accusing it of planning to rig the forthcoming 2017 general elections. 

Over the weekend, Cord principal Raila Odinga dismissed the planned forensic audit of voters’ register, alleging that the move is a ploy to rig the next year's polls.
