Kenya Deputy William has drummed for the support of Kenya Foreign Affairs cabinet secretary Amina Mohammed for the chairperson of the Africa Union Commission in Chad.
Ruto sought for the support of Chad`s president Idriss Deby in N`djamena Chad.
Chad`s Foreign affairs minister Moussa Faki Mahamat is also has a candidate for the same position.Ruto further expressed his confidence in Chad`s ability to choose the best candidate.
“President Deby has had discussions with President Kenyatta over this matter and we hope that one of the two candidates will be elected the chairperson of African Union Commission in January,” he said.
“Kenya believes Amina has what it takes because of her experience and Knowledge to drive the African Agenda forward, Amina sits in the executive council of Africa agenda 2063 which makes her knowledgeable on where we are headed as a continent,” said Ruto.
The incoming chairperson of the Africa Union Commission will replace South Africa's Nkosazan Dlamini-Zuma.
