Speaking on Radio Citizen on Tuesday, Mokua said that the DP is the force behind the several endorsements of his bid originating from junior leaders, claiming that the brigade is working under his orders.

He termed the same as the reason behind Ruto’s entertainment of the same, despite personally calling for the stop of the debate.

According to Mokua, the DP wants to impress the President by portraying an image of a leader committed to helping him leave a good legacy, while at the same time pushing his own ambitions.

‘’Yeye anataka aonekane kwamba anamuunga mkono rais kwa kuepuka mambo ya 2022 ilhali bado anajipigia debe (he wants to seem not interested in the 2022 issue yet is still campaigning for himself),’’ said Mokua.

‘’Upo uwezekano wale viongozi wanaompigia debe ni yeye  anayewatuma, kabla ya hafla yoyote lazima wawe wanaitwa na kuambiwa watakachokisema…na kama si yeye, mbona akisimama kuongea hawakatazi?( those ones endorsing his bid must be his own preventatives as otherwise, he would be condemning them),’’ he added.

Ruto has lately been calling upon leaders to now concentrate on service delivery, with his endorsements recently leading to a clash with opposition leader Raila Odinga.
