Deputy President William Ruto has said Jubilee will defeat the National Super Alliance (NASA) in the August general elections. Speaking during a voter mobilisation drive at Mtito Andei in Makueni County, Ruto said available numbers of registered voters already favoured the Jubilee Party and therefore the party was poised to win the August polls.“Our opponents said that the August presidential elections winner will be determined after the ongoing mass voter registration. Statistics are out and have shown that Jubilee is ahead of the opposition. Now, which miracle will they perform to defeat us in August?" Ruto posed on Wednesday. The Deputy President was referring to the statistics released by IEBC on Tuesday which showed that perceived Jubilee strongholds have recorded higher returns compared to their competitors in the Opposition.According to the data, Ruto's home turf is leading after registering 497,313 new voters followed by Eastern region that has since added 348,977 new voters in the register.Uhuru's Central region is third after listing 318,457 in the last three weeks of the exercise.With one week remaining to the end of the process, Cord leader Raila Odinga's perceived strongholds of Nyanza and Coast have recorded 248,390 and 238,499 new voters against a combined target of 1,556,226.Ruto, who took mass voter registration campaigns to Makueni, Machakos and Kajiado counties, and urged residents to join the 'winning' Jubilee Party.He said NASA leaders Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka, Moses Wetang’ula and Musalia Mudavadi have been in the previous governments but did nothing to Kenyans."They have nothing to show for the many years they were in public service, they don't deserve another chance," Ruto added.
