Deputy President William Ruto has re-affirmed that Jubilee Party is not a tribal outfit but meant to unite Kenyans from all walks of life.
Speaking on Friday during a fund raiser at Ngwataniro Secondary school in Mau Narok Njoro sub-county in Nakuru, Ruto said those terming the party as one to divide Kenyans along tribal lines are ill advised.
“ Our Friends in the Opposition should rest assured that Jubilee party will form the next government after 2017 general elections and no amount of noise making and counter accusations will derail the government of the day from engaging in development activities,” he said.
On cash transfer programme for the elderly, the Deputy President reiterated that the cash should only benefit those who have attained the requisite age of 65 and above.
He pointed out that chiefs and their assistants should ensure only those who qualify benefit from the programme.
Under the programme, elderly people from the age of 65 are supposed to benefit from Sh2000 monthly from the government.
Proper vetting is however supposed to be done to ensure those from well off families allow those from less fortunate benefit.
Ruto who was accompanied by among others energy Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter, Njoro MP Joseph Kiuna and Kuresoi North Moses Cheboi also launched the last mile connectivity in Mau Narok division .
He later proceeded for more fundraisers in Mauche Njoro, Rongai and Subukia.
