Deputy President William Ruto has said Kenya's role in ensuring regional and international peace and security, including contributing to peacekeeping missions remains paramount despite its decision to withdraw troops from South Sudan.
The Deputy President said the fight against terrorism and radicalisation can only be won through collaboration and intelligence sharing.
Ruto was speaking in Egypt while on a mission to drump up support for Foreign CS Amina Mohammed's bid for the AU top job.
He said Kenya believes Foreign Cabinet Secretary is best suited for the position of African Union (AU) chairperson.
Mr Ruto held talks with Egypt President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Prime Minister Sherif Ismail in Cairo, Egypt.
