Kenya is made of forty-two tribes which should be given an equal platform to serve people, notes Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto.
Ruto, who has been at loggerheads with the Jubilee administration, added that the Kalenjin and Kikuyu communities should give other tribes a chance to lead the country.
“Kenya belongs to forty –two tribes and not just Kikuyu and Kalenjin. We are the people who have intensified the tribal hatred and is likely to affect our future generations,” he said during a function at Ndanai on Sunday.
“Equity starts by effective distribution of power which is not the case in the country. Leadership should be given to other communities to increase our integration as a nation,” he added.
He urged the Kalenjin community to vote people based on their ability to deliver and warned that the community was likely to languish in poverty should it back tribal kingpins.
“You can back one of you own but the issue remains whether he or she can deliver. We need services and that can only come when we get out of tribal bigotry,” he said.
