Koigi wondered why the leaders are engaging in politics and be paid by Kenyans yet they are boycotting their office duties to engage in political theatrics.

“Am just wondering if Deputy President William Ruto, Ministers Charles Keter and Eugene Wamalwa and Governors Hassan Joho and Amason Kingi spend all their time in campaign meetings for Cord and Jubilee as we see them do almost daily, why should they be paid their salaries at the end of the month as deputy president, ministers, and governor?” Koigi quipped.

The famed social justice activist said to pay such leaders is to loot public coffers.

“If this is not corruption, what other corruption are they condemning in their meetings?” he added.

Several governors, senators, and MPs have been into a campaign trail during the two by-elections which have elicited a lot of political activity within Kenya’s political outfits, Cord and Jubilee.

Every side has fingered the by-elections as a dress rehearsal for 2017.
