The National Super Alliance (NASA) top brass that comprises of Cord leader Raila Amolo Odinga, Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi, Ford Kenya Leader Moses Wetangula and new co-principal Chama Cha Mashinani leader Isaac Ruto have agreed to allocate each other four slots in the cabinet once they form the next government come August. According to the Star, the alliance has agreed to share cabinet posts but the principals are yet to decide on the portfolio ahead of the August polls.
“They are sure of the 22 Cabinet positions provided for in the Constitution. Anything else that cannot be guaranteed will be agreed after elections,” a source told the local daily.
The source also revealed that the powering sharing deal is meant to take care of all the communities in this nation once the opposition rises to power in August.
“They have agreed each them will not fill the posts exclusively from their own communities,” an aide said.
It is also said that the principals have agreed to get Principal Secretaries from various communities if they are elected in order to form an all-inclusive government when that time comes.
On his part, Ruto has insisted that he made a right decision to join NASA.
“Jubilee proved hostile to us and we cannot force ourselves on them. NASA shares similar ideals with CCM and has agreed to ensure counties gets 45 percent of revenue,” said the governor.
