Under siege Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto will have a slight victory over Deputy Speaker Joyce Laboso should elections be held today, opinion polls held by Sotik Highland Researchers reveals.
The two candidates have been engaging in battle of titans with the latter being favored by Rift Valley political kingpin and Deputy President William Ruto.
In a publication done on Bomet Forum Facebook Page, Rutto garnered 42 percent of the votes while his closest competitor Dr. Laboso emerged second with 38 percent in the closely contested polls.
According to Director Vincent Komen, the percentage of undecided voters is still higher due to rivalry between Jubilee and Chama Cha Mashinani party which stands at 22 percent.
“Governor Ruto has a slight advantage over his rival Joyce Laboso from the survey we did across the county between October 26th and November 2nd,” he said.
“The margin error is (+-) 2 but the number of undecided votes is high which stands at 22 percent. Many residents are still not sure which of the two parties (JP and CCM) to support. To win, party politics might influence the outcome,” he added.
A total of 1550 likely voters were interviewed in the snap polls of the 260,000 voters according to IEBC register of 2013 polls.
