Bomet governor Isaac Rutto was left stranded on Saturday after a change of itinerary by President Uhuru Kenyatta's team.
Mr Kenyatta was expected to commission medical equipment at Longisa County Referral Hospital in the morning and the governor was waiting to receive him at the venue.
This was however not to be as Kenyatta began his final day trip in the Rift Valley by commissioning an upgrade and construction project of the Daraja Sita-Chebole and the Chebole - Labotiet roads.
This left the governor together with MPs Sammy Koech, Benard Bett, Ronald Tonui, as well as political activist Nicholas Rono Kipleliet waiting 30km away at Longisa.
Ruto later left for another function after waiting for three hours.
He had on Friday promised to receive President Kenyatta and DP William Ruto saying he had no problem with the visit since would benefit the local community.
The snub by Uhuru and Ruto could however be attributed to the tough stance the governor has always taken against the Jubilee government and even presiding over rallies parallel to the government's.
