Deputy President William Ruto encountered yet again another hostile reception in Kiminini barely a day after he was blocked from addressing a rally in Bung'oma, reports the standard.
The DP is in a nationwide voter registration campaign and was supposed to land at Masaba primary school in Kiminini but was forced to land at Kitale Sports club.
Youths allied to Ford Kenya chanted anti-opposition songs and barricaded a road leading to Masaba primary where Ruto was supposed to land.
Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa, who made a surprise appearance, told off the DP that the region was purely in opposition coalition.
'We love you and we appreciate the development projects that you have initiated over time but the truth of the matter is that this is an opposition zone and you are wasting your time," he said.
The DP however dismissed Wamalwa's claims arguing that the position was personal and not a political position of locals.
"What do you mean that Jubilee has no room here? That is a personal statement and does not represent feelings of locals," he told Wamalwa.
