The two leaders have been clashing since 2013 in what many political pundits have termed as political supremacy battles in the vote rich Rift Valley.

A furious Ruto dismissed Moi’s earlier claims that President Uhuru Kenyatta should face Kalenjins directly without using a proxy.

“Some people were not there when we formed Jubilee and they are busy dictating us. I am the one who brought the President to this area and I don’t see any wrong when I act on his behalf,” he said.

“We gave them humble time to govern the country and I also demand that we are given respect to work for Kenyans,” said Ruto without making direct reference to Moi.

In his speech, Moi challenged President Uhuru Kenyatta to face Kalenjins directly when rallying for his reelection, warning that using of proxies could be detrimental.
