Politics took centre stage during the visit on Sunday following political differences between Waiguru and county Woman Representative Purity Wangui Ngirici.

Waiguru blamed Ngirici for the heckling incident that happened to her by residents when William Ruto toured the county on Friday.

A group of irate youth booed Waiguru when Ruto commissioned the construction of 100km Gakoigo-Njegas road in Kerugoya, as the DP introduced Waiguru to the criwde.

In a statement to newsrooms on Saturday, Waiguru claimed that Ngirici alongside her husband Andrew, hired goons to humiliate her before Ruto.

“That the politicians would want to disrupt a meeting graced by His Excellency the Deputy President, aimed at bringing development in Kirinyaga and improving the living conditions of our people is not only selfish but also utterly preposterous,” Waiguru.

Ngirici however saying she had nothing to do with the incident, and called for investigations.

She however accuses Waiguru of corruption and lack of development in the County.

This forced Ruto to visit the county again where he urged Jubilee leaders to stop political bickering and work for the people.Speaking following a church service at the Mwea Catholic Parish, Ruto said politics should be left until 2022.

On her part, Waiguru criticised those using insults to politic, saying she had never insulted anyone be it her political competitors.

"On behalf of the people of Kirinyaga, I would like to thank His Excellency the Deputy President for visiting Kirinyaga twice in three days and launching development projects in the county," added the former Devolution and Planning Cabinet Secretary.
