William Ruto has dismissed opposition's slogan that targets 10 million voters across the country as ‘wishful ‘thinking.
Last week, opposition leader Raila Odinga lashed as Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery who threatened to ban the opposition team from using ’10 million strong’ slogan.
But speaking in Narok on Friday, Ruto insisted that the opposition team has lost ground across the country due to President Kenyatta’s popularity.
“Our competitors keep on saying that they will score 10 million. Unless that is wishful thinking because Jubilee will beat them squarely.
“They have lost ground because Kenyans trust in the leadership of the president. It is important that they prepare for a convincing defeat,” he said.
An opinion poll done by the Star last week indicates that Odinga has gained substantially over Kenyatta with only two months to elections.
With Kenyatta’s support dropping significantly from 56 percent to 49 percent, Odinga narrowed the lead to only 9 percent after scoring 40 percent.
