Nakuru County Deputy governor Joseph Ruto has called on leaders to shun party affiliations and commit their resources and energies to service delivery.

According to Ruto, time has come for politicians to do a survey of how much they had achieved at their different back yards ever since county governments took over.

Speaking on Wednesday from his office, the deputy governor asked different political opponents to prioritise development for a better Nakuru.

“It’s three years since counties took over. All eyes are on us because we are the pioneers of such a system,” he said,

He added: “As we enter the final phase towards 2017, it’s a matter of analysing your personal goals as a leader. Have you achieved or failed? If you feel you are below your target, use the remaining time to make the impact you desired.”

Ruto advised fellow politicians to overlook the endless political wrangles that have for a long time been associated with the Rift Valley region saying that the remaining time should be devoted to serving the people.

“Let’s unite and share notes on how best we can make Nakuru lead the pack in terms of innovation, development and entrepreneurship,” he noted.
