Deputy President William Ruto has said some individuals envious of his fast rise both politically and economically are planning for his downfall.
Ruto made the revelations last week while addressing journalists on the sidelines of the United Nation General Assembly.
The DP stated that the society harbours such individuals who are only good at ensuring they criticise those who make it in life fast especially if they are from humble beginnings.
"I understand that some people in the society have a problem with how far I have come. They keep questioning my record and they believe that the only way I might have made it this far is through shortcuts. They should, however, understand that I have worked hard for my success and I am proud of my self," said Ruto.
He also rubbished claims that he was a corrupt individual who was good at grabbing public land.
Ruto urged his accusers to get their facts right before shifting blames.
