Deputy President William Ruto and Cord principal Raila Odinga are likely to stir violence in Kenya.
This were the words of Kisii criminology expert Evans Magendo who said the deputy president and Cord leader Raila are misusing their position as key political figures to further divisive politics that may plunge the country into chaos.
He added that Kenyans have been dragged into it and have taken up the war to the social media attacking one another on tribal lines especially from the tribes the two leaders hail from.
Speaking in Kisii, he said Raila, Ruto’s war is open and they do not tolerate one another saying both of them are trying to prove their might.
“The two leader’s utterances and open condemnations will plunge this country into chaos. They do not tolerate each other and force their own wishes,” he said.
“The Deputy president and Raila's way of leadership is based on divisive politics that sidelines people. It is very evident the way they speak and attack each other. They should learn to tolerate one another despite their differences for the sake of Kenyans,” said Magendo.
“We are a diverse nation that calls for tolerance of different opinions. We do not have our way even if we are in power,” he said.
He said Ruto and Raila should use their influential position to bring Kenyans together saying peace and stability are more important than winning political battles.
“Ruto is the country’s deputy president, Raila a significant opposition leader. The two should use their positions to bring Kenyans together not dividing them,” he said.
