"Let no one cheat you that we as the party leaders have preferred candidates for any seat even here in Bomet. It is the electorates who will pick candidates for Jubilee," said Ruto.

Ruto clarified that all aspirants will have equal opportunities in the party.

"We will only endorse candidates after nomination but, as we speak, we do not have favourites for any seat. All those who have expressed interest are ours," Ruto added.

In August, President Uhuru Kenyatta warned Jubilee members against using his name or his deputy's to seek votes.

"Nobody should seek votes through my name or my deputy's. Endorsements are undemocratic. People should go out and seek votes in a democratic manner and not through endorsements. Talk to the people and seek for votes but not under my name," said Uhuru.
