Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya has affirmed that he still supports deputy president William Ruto.
Speaking on Tuesday, Mvurya dismissed reports that he has fallen out with the DP.
This is after a section of opposition leaders led by Kilifi governor Amason Kingi announced that they were planning to work with Ruto ahead of 2022.
Mvurya has been one of the few leaders pushing for Jubilee Party support at the Coast until Kingi showed his support for the government.
He underlined that nothing will cause him to "ditch" the party.
The county boss further welcomed the backing of other leaders.
"I know people have been saying that we no longer get along with Ruto but those are baseless claims. I was with the President and you (Ruto) in 2017 when we moved to different corners of this county and we will continue lobbying for support with my deputy as we have seen the fruits of your leadership," he said.
He was speaking during the World Environment Day in Kwale county, an event attended by Ruto.
