Mr. Osotsi claimed that any reason that it was a meeting meant for development projects in the Western region was a false one.

Kakamega senator, Cleophas Malala also denounce the meeting claiming that it was basically do drive some hidden agenda of a section of Western MPs.

"If this meeting was was meant for development, it would have involved all the leaders from the region. But in a case where a particular group of leaders is invited, then it depicts a hidden agenda," said Mr. Savula.

The deputy president toured the coastal region a fortnight ago where many leaders in the region pledged support for his 2022 election.
