Deputy President William Ruto has lashed out at the National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders for opposing development projects initiated by Jubilee administration that improve lives and benefit poor Kenyans.
Speaking during a public rally at Gesami in Nyamira County, Ruto said people across the country have seen the benefits Jubilee has brought them since coming to power in 2013, a move that has placed the coalition at a good position ahead of the August polls.
“We are changing the rural landscape through infrastructure development; road construction, street lighting, connecting electricity to homes and markets. Opening up these areas has brought new investments and given the people real opportunities,” he said.
The Jubilee Deputy Party leader asked the residents not to vote for the Opposition alliance, NASA, saying it has nothing to offer them.
“The NASA team are sweet talkers without a tangible development plan. They have no manifesto for Kenyans. I am asking you to reject them because they are just opportunists,” urged Ruto.
The DP said the Jubilee administration deserve another term in office as it has not reneged on its 2013 election pledges.
“We are fulfilling the promises we made. We talked of free maternity to save mothers and children during childbirth and we are doing so. We pledged to bridge the gap between the haves and have-nots and last year we said candidates will not pay examination fees,” he noted as he pleaded with the locals to support President Uhuru Kenyatta’s reelection bid in the August polls.
