Deputy President William Ruto has denied claims of participating in extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances and corrupt land deals in a response to allegations made by Boniface Mwangi saying Mwangi does not have any evidence.
The DP`s lawyer Kioko Kilukumi said in a defamation lawsuit filed by the DP against Activist Mwangi that the DP had no leadership role in an implementation policy of extrajudicial killings
This is after Mwangi posted on social media a letter that linked Ruto linked DP to the death of businessman Jacob Juma.
The alleged offensivte post on Twitter got 556 retweets and 476 likes, eliciting different reactions that made the DP to demand an apology
Mwangi failed to apologize saying the post was not offensive that prompted the DP to file a defamatory law suit in court seeking for compensation for the defamatory statement.
The DP said Mwangi’s published material about him was not a fair comment as claimed by Mwangi hence justifiable
In his response to the allegations by Mwangi on his involvement in corrupt land dealings, he said he is an innocent purchaser for value in the acquisition of immovable property as per the law.
“The occupation of a State officer does not entitle Mwangi to publish defamatory content against the DP, He has lived up to the standards prescribed by the Constitution and all other written laws, as well as being true to his oath of office,” said Kilukumi.
