Speaking yesterday at Turbo during a thanksgiving mass organised by our Lady of  Lourdes churches, the DP said that tribalism and ethnicity is a disease that has for a long time divided and caused bloodshed among Kenyans.

He said that the government will not tolerate any person or group that aims at dividing the country along ethnic lines.

Ruto asked leaders across the political divide to work tirelessly in order to unite all Kenyans regardless of their ethnic background.

“Time has come for politicians to put aside their interests and political ideologies and focus on uniting the country,” he said.

Ruto asked politicians to support the government in the fight against insecurity, saying that blame games would only give the extremists confidence to conduct more attacks.

He at the same time asked Kenyans to pray for him and radio journalist Joshua Sang in the ongoing ICC cases, saying that God would intervene.

“I am confident that just like the withdrawal of the case against President Uhuru Kenyatta, mine would follow the same direction. It is just a matter of time before charges levelled against me will be withdrawn,” added Ruto.
