Deputy President William Ruto has said that the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga will define his legacy.
Speaking on Thursday, Ruto said that despite his many milestones as the country’s president the handshake is the one standing out.
“Your Excellency President of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta, when the history of Kenya will be written, your legacy may not necessarily be the Standard Gauge Railway, although it is a great achievement; it may not be the 6.7 million Kenyans that today enjoy electricity in their homes, although it is great; it may not be the 7 million Kenyans today who have NHIF cards in their homes, although it is great,” said DP Ruto.
"… but your legacy will be the courage you had to assemble us and tell us it is possible for us to unite this country.”
Ruto further thanked the president for carrying on the message of peace and unity even after Jubilee won the elections.
