Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya on Saturday hosted Deputy President William Ruto together with other Kwale leaders.
DP Ruto has commissioned the Milalani-Mivumoni-Kilulu Road which opens up the interior of Msambweni sub county as well as aid transportation of farm produce.
"We’re grateful for this milestone which is also a great step in realizing the government’s 4 point agenda," said Mvurya who was re-elected on a Jubilee party ticket.
On his part, Ruto said: "Good roads are enablers of economic growth and diversification, allowing farmers to venture into commercial production due to rapid transport; a spark for investors to set up shop; a boost for domestic and international tourism and a key element of industrialisation."
Addressing locals after he commissioned the roads, Ruto affirmed the Jubilee government's commitment to empower counties and all Kenyans.
Ruto's visit in Kwale follows his arrival in Mombasa on Friday where he commissioned Jomvu-Rabai road.
