Deputy President William Ruto has castigated any dialogue with the NASA coalition, saying they can only seat down and talk about the country's development agenda.
Responding to NASA co-principal Moses Wetangula's dialogue calls during the burial ceremony of Yvonne Wamalwa, widow of former Vice President Kijana Wamalwa, Ruto said "the only dialogue we can have is how we can create jobs for our youth."
He warned that the Jubilee government would not accept any political dialogue with NASA that would see power sharing or lead the country into another election before 2022.
"Let nobody lie to Kenyans that we're going to have another election tomorrow or next week. The only election we will have is until 2022. We can not dialogue about it. Jubilee or NASA can not decide when to have an election, it is the people who decide," he said on Saturday.
Wetangula had said that "we need to have a national dialogue" during the burial, prompting Ruto to respond.
NASA has been calling for dialogue with Jubilee government even before the controversial swearing-in of its leader, Raila Odinga on January 30.
