[Photo|@citizentvkenya]Isaac Ruto has come out to speak publicly for the first time, after losing his seat, to the outgoing Sotik MP Joyce Laboso, in the just concluded August 8 polls.Ruto who is the outgoing Bomet county governor, said his defeat does not mean he is done politically. He said he would actively engage in politics, including championing the development agenda of his Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) party, and the Opposition's National Super Alliance (Nasa), where he is a co-principal."Losing out does not mean I'm completely down. You will see an active Ruto that you have never seen. I am there to stay as a Nasa leader in the South Rift region," Ruto said, Thursday.During an interview on a Kalenjin vernacular radio station, the former Council of Governors chairman indicated: "My absence should not be misconstrued to mean I am drifting away."He further indicated he would not move to court to file a petition against Laboso's win. Instead, Ruto said he would gladly handover power to the Jubilee Party governor-elect.Ruto who is seen as one of the political bigwigs, however urged Laboso not to sack county staff, who were employed during his tenure.
