A political analyst, Samuel Salat has come to the defense of Deputy President William Ruto, saying the whole issue of 2022 is being politicized so that he loses votes.
He goes ahead to say Kikuyu have no problem in supporting Ruto come 2022, and that president Uhuru Kenyatta is a dignified man who will keep his word and see him president come 2022.
“Politicians are portraying Ruto as loosing popularity among the people which is contrary to what is actually on the ground. Some individuals want to kill Ruto politically especially now that they have seen there is no hope for them in the 2017 general elections. Uhuru Kenyatta will keep his promise of 2022 to support Ruto which is a major boost for him. What makes him forsake such a friend?” He said.
He added that the 2022 general elections are still far and by then we will have known a way forward.
“These are merely premature claims. Ruto and Jubilee government have delivered majority of their pledges, something his political rivals are now shunning mentioning diverting attention to attacking Ruto on his popularity and Kikuyu support,” he added.
He adds that no one speaks for Kikuyu’s and that they be voting for Jubilee as a party and not Ruto as a Kalenjin and Jubilee is a party of all tribes.
