Deputy President William Ruto maintains that he is not playing with the same political league with Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho adding that he is not ready for a political contest with him.
The two have been embroiled in frosty relationship with Joho accusing Ruto of allegedly demeaning opposition leader Raila Odinga.
Speaking at the historical Tononoka grounds on Sunday, Ruto said he was not interested with political contest with the outspoken governor.
“Joho leads a small county yet I am the second in command in this country. It’s ridiculous that he sometime tries to pick a political fight with me,” he said.
“I am not interested in political fights with people who don’t play my league. My main aim is to have Jubilee win in Mombasa County. Let those carrying ‘envelope’ business do it in peace and leave me alone,” he said.
Jubilee Party is keen to win in the coastal county which is strongly associated with opposition leader Raila Odinga.
