The Uasin Gishu politics has taken twist after DP William Ruto asked governor aspirant Bundotich Kiprop to drop out of the race and support incumbent Jackson Mandago.

Speaking at Kapseret on Saturday, the DP said Mandago won the primaries in the county and therefore deserves to be supported by everyone who lost, including 'Buzeki' Kiprop.

“Waswahili husema asiyekubali kushindwa si mshindani (A Kiswahili saying goes 'he who does not accept loss is not a true competitor),” he said.

"Buzeki should now withdraw and back Mandago because we want to be a team."

But Buzeki who decided to vie as an independent after losing the nominations has vowed not bow out of the race.

The DP said politicians who won the primaries were the choice of the people and that these decisions have to be respected.
