Deputy President William Ruto has hit out at head teachers who are still asking for payments from parents.
Speaking in Kuresoi South on Sunday, Ruto said that as schools reopen, parents should be wary of teachers who want to turn them into cash cows.
He said the government has fully sponsored secondary education in all public day schools.
"Na waalimu wasituchezee, we have ensured secondary education is free in all day schools. Hatutaki ukora na ujanja mingi," Ruto said.
The DP added that no child should miss school because he/she comes from a humble background.
