Ruto insisted that not even a single cent of the loan was lost, but instead accused the former Prime Minister of spreading propaganda on alleged corruption scandals in the government.

“By someone alleging that over Sh200 billion Eurobond money was stolen, that is nonsense. I think this is the biggest lie ever told to Kenyans since independence," said the DP while appearing on an interview on Citizen TV on Wednesday.

He dismissed claims by Opposition leader as 'utter nonsense', saying the Kenyan government could in no way collude with the American government to steal the Eurobond proceeds.

The DP said Raila and the opposition were insincere adding that the government has nothing to hide.

“He (Raila) was invited by Henry Rotich (Treasury CS) to his office but he refused to go,” said Ruto.

The CORD co-principal has on several occasions accused the government of hiding critical information on the Eurobond from the public.

Ruto acknowledged the fact that some government officers have been engaged in corruption but dismissed the magnitude of loss portrayed by the opposition.
