As the National Super Alliance strives to have their leader Raila Odinga sworn-in as president, the biggest beneficiary in the event will be Deputy President William Ruto.

The reason is simple.

Well, the common argument on the street is that with Uhuru already in his final term, Ruto will now have the headache of planning well since Raila's strength in 2022, direct or indirect, will be immense to determine what Ruto gets at the end of the day.

With him moving around as the People's President, Raila will remain a strong leader in NASA strongholds and this will likely solidify these regions within the opposition.

Even if he bows out of the presidential race ahead of 2022, whoever Raila supports in the next elections will be the one Ruto will have to sweat to take the presidency.

But this is a blessing in disguise to Ruto as revealed by political scientist Amukowa Anangwe.

According to Anangwe, a united NASA is what Ruto needs since it will help to put  Jubilee on toes and force them into unity.

The Mount Kenya brigade has been said to vote not because they love Uhuru but because they dislike Raila.

With Raila playing a role in the opposition, Central Kenya will remain united against their common emeny.

In this case, Ruto will only have to ask his Rift Valley to vote enmasse and hope to get a share of Kisii, Western and North Eastern as they did in the last election.

Then the game will be over.
