Deputy President William Ruto has accused the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission of working in cahoots with the opposition to scuttle the impending general elections.
Speaking during a rally at Kabarnet in Baringo county Sunday, Ruto said the Iebc was seemingly at the whims of the opposition whom together he said were scheming on how to bungle the elections.
"And to the Iebc,we are warning you to stop what you are trying to do.There is no way you are going to succced in scuttling this election together with the opposition.Kenyans have prepared to vote on August 8 and no single trick will change that. You must learn to remain independent," he said.
In what is seen as a reaction to the Friday High Court ruling on the ballot tender process in which the courts nullified the presidential ballot printing contract earlier awarded to Dubai-based Al Ghurair, the DP said the three entities; opposition, the courts and the electoral body had conspired to derail the process through biased court rulings.
Ruto was in the company of President Uhuru Kenyatta among other local leaders.
