Deputy President William Ruto has slammed the opposition coalition's National Super Alliance (NASA) following the swearing-in of its leader Raila Odinga.

Ruto attacked the four principals of the coalition, saying they should stop political gimmicks and put their house in order in preparation for the 2022 general election.

He said NASA was playing political gimmicks just shortly after the 2017 elections instead of planning for another political contest on time.According to the DP, he, through the Jubilee Party, will squarely send NASA home in 2022 if the principals fail to put their house in order. Ruto will be vying for presidency in 2022.

"You started the same way in 2017, taking too much time to get your presidential candidate. We told you you would lose, and you lost."

"You have once again started instead of putting your house in order and planning for 2022. If you continue like this, I will send Kalonzo (Musyoka) and the entire NASA home once again," said Ruto amid laughter from mourners.

Kalonzo who is one of the four principals, is seen as next NASA presidential candidate.

Ruto was speaking on Saturday during the burial ceremony of Yvonne Wamalwa, widow of former Vice President Kijana Wamalwa, in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County.

Also present during the burial ceremony was NASA co-principal Moses Wetangula, among other leaders.
