This was revealed by Thika MP Alice Ng'ang'a when she was issuing cheques worth Sh9 million to special and high school students in an event held at Thika sub-county stadium on Tuesday.

She asked the parents to turn out in large numbers to witness the opening of an extra girls' boarding school in the area.

She said that the school was opened this year and so far it has 90 students, who have started learning.

The lawmaker said that four years from now, the school will be competing with Mayhill and Chania Girls in terms of performance.

“The deputy president is going to commission Thika Girls school, which was purely constructed by the CDF and he will also commission more projects in the constituency," she said.

"Please turn out in large numbers and witness what we are doing in this constituency and also see that your money is being used to do constructive work.”

“I will continue to develop education in this constituency when I see the need to construct another I will construct it, but this time it will be a boys' school,” she added.
