The DP who was speaking in Werugha on Friday, wondered how a leader who is using piped water doesn't want other Kenyans to benefit as well.

“Raila and his family are using tap water, yet he is opposing water projects meant to quench the thirst of Kenyans. You tell us you are seeking leadership, yet you oppose development projects that are set to benefit poor Kenyans. Don’t be cheated by this man,” said Ruto as quoted by The Star.

The DP also said he will not be surprised if the former Prime Minister opposes the Mzima 2 water project in the Coast region said to cost Sh42 billion.

“He is opposing all development projects by the government and soon, he will come here to oppose the Mzima 2 water project that will cost the government Sh42 billion. I wonder whether a man with a right mind can oppose projects that will benefit the people,” Ruto added.

This comes after the Cord co-principal opposed the construction of the Northern Collector Tunnel in Murang’a County as well as the Itare dam in the Rift Valley region  over their impact on the environment.
