National Vision Party leader Nicholas Biwott has endorsed Deputy President William Ruto's Presidential ambitions for 2022 general elections.

The 'Total Man'' also went ahead to lobby members of his Kalenjin Community, where the deputy president hails from, to rally behind him and President Kenyatta as they seek a re-election in next year's general polls under their new political vehicle Jubilee Party.

The former cabinet head also said that the DP is the most popular leader in the Rift Valley currently and has no competition despite the rise of other leaders challenging his influence in the region including Isaac Ruto and Baringo County Senator Gideon Moi.

Biwott has further pledged to support Ruto with his presidential ambitions, saying that he and President Kenyatta have brought about a lot of development since they took office after the 2013 general elections.

“I want to declare, we as the Kalenjin community have only one leader and that is Ruto. We will support him both in 2017 and 2022,”He was quoted by the Standard newspaper.

Biwott served as a cabinet minister in 8 different dockets under Presidents Kenyatta,Moi and Kibaki.

He served as minister of State,Agriculture,State,Finance,Energy,Trade,Regional Development,Science and Technology and East African and Regional Cooperation and was also the parliamentarian for Keiyo South.
