Atwoli further accused the DP of disrespecting leaders from the Western region.

According to Citizen Digital, Atwoli cited an incident where Ruto referred to Amani National Congress (ANC) Party leader Musalia Mudavadi as 'jamaa'.

Atwoli urged the DP to exercise respect, saying “it is the most important thing in relationships and friendships.”

This comes after Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) chairman John Mbadi recently accused Ruto of “throwing insults and spewing venom at everyone who holds a different opinion from him.”

“The language President Uhuru and Deputy Ruto are resorting to is darker, violent, threatening, demeaning to themselves and opponents and more prone to insults and grandstanding,” said Mbadi.

He said the choice of words by Uhuru and Ruto sets a worrying tone and trend ahead of next year's elections.
