"We are ready to work with the Gusii community so as to move the country forward as Jubilee," Ruto said.

He dismissed Cord's brand of politics as driven by malice, ethnic hatred and false accusations at the expense of improving the welfare of Kenyans.

"Some people only excel at blowing whistles, focusing on ethnic divisions and blowing whistles. Why can't they sell their development agenda to Kenyans instead of unnecessary tribal sideshows? " he wondered.

He extended an invitation to the Gusii community to join what he termed "the winning team in the next polls".

Mr Ruto was speaking at Isoge, Borabu sub county, Nyamira County during the launch of the Last Mile electricity project on Friday.

The DP was accompanied by Energy Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter, Sotik MP Lorna Laboso, East African Legislative Assembly member Joseph Kiangoi, former Commission on the Implementation of the Constitution Charles Nyachae and Tourism Finance Corporation chairman Mr Patrick Osero among others.
