Nominated senator Paul Njoroge has accused Deputy President William Ruto of using government agencies to silence his political critics.
Speaking to journalists on Thursday in Nakuru, the controversial Senator cited the just concluded Jubilee Party primaries where political heavyweights drawn from Rift Valley and Central Kenya were trounced, accusing the DP of being responsible.
"We saw that senior politicians from Central and Rift Valley who are opposed to Ruto were rigged out during the just concluded Jubilee primaries," he noted.
"We have seen that people like former Devolution CS Ann Waiguru who has openly differed with Ruto are on the list. This is a well-planned move to lock them out," he added.
Njoroge further reignited the 2022 succession politics debate, stating that the Mt Kenya region is rethinking its decision to back Ruto's presidential bid at the time.
"Ruto should know there other credible leaders such as Gideon Moi will be seeking the post of president. He should stop his arm-twisting tactics," he said.
