A section of Opposition coalition NASA leaders drawn from Kwale County have cautioned Deputy President William Ruto against showing disrespect to Raila Odinga.
Led by Kwale Senator Issah Boy and MPs Suleiman Dori (Msambweni), Benjamin Tayari (Kinango) and Kassim Tandaza (Matuga), the lawmakers appealed to Ruto to desist from calling the Opposition chief names.
“We will move around asking people to vote for NASA and the other side (Jubilee) should also ask for votes peacefully,” remarked Dori.
The leaders further accused Devolution CS Mwangi Kiunjuri of using relief food as a campaign tool.
The outspoken Cabinet Secretary has been championing for the reelection of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
"We don't want to see leaders give our people maize and beans as a way of buying them. The food has been bought using public funds. He (Kiunjuri) should look for work to do, not flying here to bribe people with food,” Dori noted.
The legislators made the remarks during a political rally to drum up support for NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga ahead of the October 26 repeat polls.
